Compliance check data — business addresses submitted for compliance checks, brand names, product types, and check results
Payment information — billing details are processed and stored by Stripe; we do not store credit card numbers
Usage data — pages visited, features used, and timestamps for analytics and product improvement

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

Provide compliance checking services (geocoding, law lookup, AI-generated summaries)
Process subscription billing and manage your account
Improve our product and fix issues
Send transactional emails (password resets, billing receipts, feedback status updates)

3. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following services to provide our product:

Stripe — payment processing (name, email, billing info)
Geoapify — address geocoding and autocomplete (addresses only)
Google Gemini / Groq — AI-powered law summaries and ordinance research (jurisdiction and product type data, no personal info)
USPS Web Tools — address standardization (addresses only)
eCFR API — federal regulation lookup (no personal data)
Open States API — state legislation tracking (no personal data)

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Data Retention

Compliance check history is retained for the duration of your subscription plus 90 days after cancellation. Account data is deleted within 30 days of a deletion request. Cached geocoding results are retained for 24 hours.

5. Cookies and Tracking

Beer Buddy uses session cookies for authentication and CSRF protection. We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or analytics services that track users across websites.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your personal data and compliance check history
Correct inaccurate information in your account
Delete your account and associated data
Export your compliance check history

7. Children's Privacy

Beer Buddy is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The nature of our product (alcohol compliance) is inherently an adult-only service.
